The rules, printed in full.
Nothing on this table is hidden or variable. The same rules apply to every round.
- GoalFinish with a hand closer to 21 than the house’s without going over.
- Card valuesNumber cards count their face value. Jacks, queens and kings count 10. An ace counts 11 unless that would take the hand over 21, in which case it counts 1. A hand where an ace is currently counting 11 is called “soft” and shows as s17, s18 and so on.
- The deckOne standard 52-card deck, shuffled at random. When fewer than 15 cards remain in the hopper, a fresh deck is shuffled in before the next deal.
- The dealYou and the house get two cards each. Your cards are face up; the house shows one and keeps one face down.
- House ruleThe house must draw on 16 or less and must stand on any 17 or more — including a soft 17. It never makes a choice.
- NaturalsAn ace plus any ten-value card as your first two cards is a blackjack. The house checks its hidden card straight away: if it also has one, the round is a push.
- DoubleOn your first two cards you may double your stake, receive exactly one more card, and stand.
- PayoutsBlackjack pays 3:2 (a 20-coin stake returns 50). An ordinary win pays 1:1. A tie returns your stake. A bust or lower total loses the stake.
- Stakes10 to 500 coins, in steps of 10, never more than your balance.
